A Record-breaking Sports Figure

She was ranked third overall by the Tulsa Shock in the 2013 WNBA draft. Diggins is a professional basketball player of the Dallas Wings of the Women’s National Basketball Association.

While in high school, she was the National Gatorade Player of the Year, the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American. Diggins played point guard for Notre Dame where she led the team to three consecutive Final Fours and two consecutive NCAA championship appearances.

By the time she finished her Notre Dame career, she was placed first in points and steals andsecond in assists. She also became a two-time winner of the Nancy Lieberman Award as the top point guard in the country. She simultaneously led her team to a record of 35 – 2.

Diggins finished her high school career with 2,790 points, the third highest girls’ scoring total in Indiana for an average of 25.9 points per game. While attending Washington High School, she led the Panthers tostate championship games including their title-winning season of 2007. She was recognized in the all-state first team from 2007 to 2009.

Her career is highlighted with numerous awards like WNBA All-Star, Most Improved Player and All WNBA First Team.

Apart from basketball, Diggins played volleyball and performed well in her studies, earning High Academic Honors as a senior and becoming a member of National Honor Society. She was named a WBCA All-American. In the March 2009 edition of Sports Illustrated, Diggins was part of its Faces in the Crowd section.

During her freshman season in Notre Dame, she was one of the three Miss Basketball honorees on the 2009 – 2010 Roller. Diggins set records for steals, free throws made and minutes played. She gained national recognition in her sophomore year, finishing the regular season first on the team in assists per game, being placed second in scoring and third in steals.

Diggins isan accomplished athlete who was acknowledged as the Most Outstanding Player of the 2011 NCAA Dayton Regional. She reached a milestone by going over the 1000 point mark for her career.

Due to her excellence in the court, she was picked out by the Associated Press as a 2011 Third Team All-American. Diggins was also acknowledged as one of ten members of the 2011 State Farm Coaches All-American Team.

In 2014 she signed an endorsement deal with Bodyarmor SuperDrink.

In her professional career she excelled greatly, playing 34 games of the 2017 season and scoring high points.

Diggins is an advocate against childhood obesity, a model for Nike and a guest interviewer for ESPN. She additionally hosts Shoot for the Sky Camps around the world for young boys and girls.
